Description
The “Village” wine, if you will, but a combination of top crus (Zottorinoto-Chiusa Spagnolo, Feudo di Mezzo-sottana and Porcaria) and vineyard sites meant solely for this cuvèe (Rampante sottana, Piano Daini and Crasà. Entirely Nerello Mascalese, with the average vine age across the vineyards at around 50 years. The grapes are de-stemmed and allowed to macerate for 50 days. Fermentations start with a pied de cuvée, and are carried out in neutral vats. The wines will age in vat for 18 months and in bottle for another 18 months. About 18,000 bottles are created yearly, a balanced wine of all the charm and texture of great Nerello Macalese.
