2012 Franz Hirtzberger Setzberg Riesling Smaragd
Light gold color. The nose is bright and salty with a mountain stream, minerals, white flowers, and ginger, on top of the key lime pie and lemon curd. Lovely texture, a plump feel on the palate, with crisp, vibrant, tickling acidity, and the balance is on point. The depth of lime, lemon, apricot and guava fruit is impressive, but there’s lots of honey, ginger, white tea, almond, and mint, not to mention chalk dust and minerals.
