WhistlePig Farm Boss Hog is a series of exclusively produced and highly collectible rye whiskey selections inspired by the distiller’s mascot pigs throughout the years – and much beloved by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. This featured release is the 2014 WhistlePig Farm The Boss Hog 2nd Edition Straight Rye Whiskey, dubbed the Spirit of Mortimer – intricately depicted by the series’ customary hand-chiseled pewter ornamental stopper. This prized whiskey is aged for a minimum of 13.5 years and composed of 100% rye distillate hand-selected from the distiller’s “Bond 77” barrels, which housed juice that entered wood in April of 2001. Bond 77 was part of a quadruple barreling-aging methodology, including a marriage of American oak and 1st-use bourbon barrels. WhistlePig The Boss Hog 2nd Edition was produced from just 50 single barrels and bottled at a varying cask strength of +117-124 proof.
