The first release from the 2016 harvest at Lakefield farm, Lakefield 1. 1 is made entirely from ‘Irina’ malted barley, aged for 3 years and 7 months and bottled in 2021 at 50% ABV Multiple maturations take place, including first-fill, virgin US & French Oak delivering a complex and fruity Irish whiskey Nose:
Freshly baked bread and chocolate up front Palate:
A real bakery feel here with notes of warm custard, chocolate and rhubarb and apple tart Finish:
Spicier notes of clove appear alongside sweet sticky treacle
