Built in 1700 The Macallan estate lies in an area of great natural beauty. Macallan uses smallest spirit stills on Speyside, which Contribute to the distinctively rich, fruity ‘new make’ spirit of the distillery. Interestingly, these stills are so famous they have appeared on the back of a Bank of Scotland banknotes. The Macallan spends more time on sourcing, building and caring for its casks than any other distillery. Spanish sherry seasoned oak casks produce flavours of chocolate, dried fruits and spices; American sherry seasoned oak casks provide sweet citrus, light spice, vanilla and light oak, whilst the American bourbon seasoned oak barrels offer sweet citrus, coconut and oak.The Macallan Fine Oak 30 Year Old Single Malt Scotch, matured in seasoned oak casks, offers rich, aromatic and heady flavours of vanilla, sandalwood, cherry and orange.
