Description
The story of Poderi Aldo Conterno, one of the elite, historic Barolo producers, is a tale of great passion for winemaking that winds back across generations and crosses international borders. While the Langhe Rosso, Chardonnay “Bussiador”, Barbera d’Alba “Conca Tre Pile” and Nebbiolo “Favot” represent a nod to modern winemaking techniques, the Barolo wines remain firmly in the traditionalist camp, aged in large Slavonian-oak botte before bottling. Only indigenous yeasts and traditional fermenting techniques are used. 97 Points – James Suckling Freshly cut flowers with strawberry, peach and orange peel aromas that follow through to a full body with layers of velvety tannins, that have a fine texture and give a refined yet voluptuous mouthfeel. It shows class and harmony for this tannic vintage. 96 Points – Wine Spectator There’s a youthful exuberance to this polished red, as well as a good dose of new oak that frames the core cherry and raspberry fruit with notes of vanilla and sandalwood, plus a touch of coconut. The elegance, length and vigorous structure reveal this wine’s full potential.
