A UK exclusive single cask release of a magnificently sherried Glendronach from a 1994 distillation. Only 660 bottles were released, bottled at cask strength following 22 years of maturation in a single ex-PX Sherry puncheon. Distilled 18/11/1994 Bottled 11/2016 Natural Colour and non chill filtered and natural cask strength of 53. 2% ABV Tasting Notes: Nose – Mixed peel and stem ginger syrup give afresh balance to dark raisins and sour plums. Palate – Rich dark chocolate floods over richly stewed plums and prune syrup, contrasted by crisp orange zest and vibrant oak spices. Finish – Huge and complex with unctuous rich Sherry oak and deep fruitcake. Long and rewarding! A stunning release from this ever reliable distillery, epic and bold yet ultimately beautifully balanced and worth every penny when you consider the cost of a certain distillery and their 20 year old+ sherry cask releases, so you could say great value for money really.
