Duncan Taylor’s Dimensions Collection is an outstanding range of single malt and single grain whiskies from across the length and breadth of Scotland. This 2008, 12 year old GlenAllachie is bottled at Cask Strength at 54. 3% ABV and aged in sherry casks. Nose: Caramel shortbread, butterscotch, lots of dried fruits especially dates, rich but not oversweet. Palate: Lots of cafe latte, more liquid caramel and milky chocolate, a little tobacco, some aged sweet wine notes come forward. Finish: Spiced chocolate cake with nutmeg and cloves, the off dry spices fade to a pleasant warmth, good length.
