One of two inaugural expressions in Barrell’s Cask Finish Series, this limited-release bourbon features a finishing in Amburana casks. Released in 2023, Barrell Bourbon Cask Finish Series Amburana is composed of a blend of five bourbons spanning two different mashbills and aged at different char levels. After finishing in Amburana casks, a vatting of individual casks without finishing was layered in to add depth, richness, and complexity, ensuring the bourbon shines through first and foremost. Bottled at 58.21% ABV (116.42-proof), the Amburana casks add a tremendous amount of flavor resulting in a unique and elevated sipping experience. On the nose, cinnamon and baking spice suffuses nearly every other aroma. The palate is rich and buttery, with oak-derived spices predominating, with hints of sweet honey and gingerbread. …
