Description
Ardbeg Signatory Vintage 1975 Decanter 18 Year Old Cask 2464-67
A rare early Signatory bottling of Ardbeg distilled in 1975 and bottled in the 1990s. Presented in a lovely decanter, this is from a batch of just four casks, and was bottled at eighteen years old.
Signatory Vintage is a leading Scottish independent bottler of single malt and single grain whisky. Andrew and Brian Symington started the business in 1988, and built their own bottling plant in Edinburgh in the early 1990s.
The name derives from an idea, never implemented, to have each release endorsed by a celebrity signature. In 2002 Andrew Symington bought the Edradour distillery in Perthshire from Pernod Ricard, and all operations were moved to that location.
There are regular new releases and the range at any one time usually runs to around 50 whiskies, organized into various collections. Almost all are year-dated, single-cask bottlings.
