Description
Deriving much of its power and complexity from a plot of 700 vines planted in 1945, there was another planting in 1996 on iron-rich soils that has increased the tiny production of this wine. The old vines planted in tufo-rich soil, the wine is aged in botti for 8 months before an additional 6+ months in bottle.
This is easily one of the best wine to take to the Thanksgiving table. It has ample structure, great backbone of acid, deep slightly dried dark fruit character, velvety tannins. There is also a distinct spice component, like combining black and blue fruits with the aromas and flavors of an artisan cola.
