Description
Monvigliero cru in Verduno stands as the pinnacle parcel in the region, featuring soils composed of 40% silt, 30% limestone, and 30% sand, intermingled with traditional Sant’Agata marls. At 300 meters altitude and facing south, the 45-year-old vines enjoy a full day’s sunlight. Following whole cluster fermentation in Slavonian oak barrels and a remarkable 60-day maceration, the wine ages in large wood botti for about 3 years, then undergoes 9 months of bottle aging. The 2012 Barolos reflect a brighter, fresher Barolo that are fruit forward and lower in alcohol.
